The Loft and Mr Jones

To get ready for the men to come to insulate our loft, we have had to do some serious clearing!   So many memories in every carton, case and bag.  Our son Roger's toys all carefully stored, Alan's later toys even more carefully packed and remainders of my parents belongings which I could not bear to part with even after so long.

Mr Jones is a very old ted with hardly any mohair left.  My mother had found him at a car boot sale and was delighted at her find....even though the poor thing had no hands or feet. That did not matter to her one bit.  She brought him home triumphantly, dressed him in a terrible Arran sweater and blue trousers and then loved him to bits.  Where the name Mr Jones originated I dont know but even though he looked a mess he took pride of place in her collection.  'Mr Jones...You Know....' she would say.

This poor ted was at the bottom of a box in the loft.  When I brought him out it nearly reduced me to tears.  Determined to bring him back to life I worked on his paws and gave him real glass (vintage of course!) eyes.  Here he is above in all his glory and he is not going to be hidden away again!  Mr Jones is going to start having some adventures as long as he behaves which I am sure he will.  It might even bring a smile to his face which does look a tiny bit glum just now.....

  3. Good morning Mr. Jones.
I am so glad you are out of that dark trunk. You need to sit where you can see out a window and go on outings with your mum. I spied you in the photo.

We would love to hear of places you go. I can't post on Fridays, so I write my story on Sunday.
Looking forward to hear your story.
    Hugs
    Wilbur.

  4. Hello Mr Jones!
Congratulations on your daring escape from the box in the Land of Loft, where ever that is.
Are you a Welsh bear? I am Welsh by adoption, though I came from England, and my friend Brendan O'Button is Irish by origin. So it is quite possible that you are a Welsh bear that lives in Scotland.
I hope to hear of your adventures soon.
    Hugs,
Trumble Gardener-Bear (friend of Hetty )

    1. Hello Trumble,
Thing is...my brain feels a little woozy and I cant even remember where I was made originally. Sooo many things happened to me in my life and it was only when I met Iris at the car boot sale that I started to be really happy! Now of course it is even better because I have my paws back good as new. When I manage to borrow a pen from Sue I will write a letter.....
